A little reflection on the importance of exercise
Did you know your body is a miracle? Our bodies are essentially natural masterpieces and the result of a very thoughtful creation. Tiny individual parts such as nerves, blood vessels, muscle fibres and bones make up complex parts of the body and functional systems that rule our lives with their perfect interaction. Our bodies function like machines and like any machine there is critical steps to keep them running properly.
Among these steps we can find eating healthy in a regular basis, proper hydration, getting a good night sleep, keep a good hygiene, exercising regularly, etc. Today we are going to focus on exercise or physical activity.
Why should I make an effort to exercise regularly?
There is a ton of reasons why you should be exercising often than if we were to list them here this would be one of the largest blogs in the world! Yes, granted you’ll feel like you are about to pass out if you go running for an hour and have not been exercising regularly for the past year BUT!! as the ex-Navy Seals says ~ the place to start is right here and right now ~ Jocko Willink.
Research shows that physical activity can also boost self-esteem, mood, sleep quality and energy, as well as reducing your risk of stress, depression, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
«If exercise were a pill, it would be one of the most cost-effective drugs ever invented,» says Dr Nick Cavill, a health promotion consultant.https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/exercise-health-benefits/
Nowadays it could be easy to put aside one of the most important things to keep our machines (bodies) running at their best; with the constant growth of digital entertainment, the responsibilities of work and school, and lastly the laziness and procrastination. All this can be overcomed by your determination to improve your health, state of mind and overall quality of life, plus you’ll be happier!
